How to Verify an Intuit ID and password

An Intuit User ID is the email address associated with an Intuit account. (Note that these are entirely different from a QuickBooks User ID and password.) It is best to use an email address that belongs to the organization and is easily accessed by the primary QuickBooks user, usually the Treasurer or Administrator, and to set up a second Intuit user.

There are two ways to access an Intuit account:

  • Go to
  • From within QuickBooks, in the Help dropdown menu, select “Manage My QuickBooks Account”

Enter the Intuit ID, the password, and select Sign In. It is possible that you will need to provide a verification code sent either by text message or phone call to the Primary Contact. If the primary contact or that phone number is no longer available, or if the multi-factor authentication is set to text message and the phone is a landline, then you will need to initiate a multi-day process for Intuit to manually change the number.

In order to keep this Intuit ID available to those who may need it in the future, you may wish to create a new vendor in QB named “Intuit” and record the user ID and password in custom fields in the Additional Info tab.

Once you are able to log in, then you are ready to purchase a subscription.
